Keno’s History

[ English ]

Keno was introduced in 200 BC by the Chinese army leader, Cheung Leung who used this game as a finance resource for his declining forces. The city of Cheung was waging a battle, and after a bit of time seemed to be looking at a national famine with the drastic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to create a rapid fix for the economic calamity and to produce revenue for his forces. He therefore created the game we know today as keno and it was a great success.

Keno once was known as the White Pigeon Game, due to the fact that the winning numbers were broadcast by pigeons from bigger cities to the lesser villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was imported to the USA in the 19th century by Chinese newcomers who migrated to the States to work. In those times, Keno was played with one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is generally wagered on with 80 numbers in just about all of the US based casinos as well as web casinos. Keno is largely enjoyed today as a consequence of the laid back nature of wagering the game and the basic reality that there are little expertise required to play Keno. Regardless of the fact that the odds of succeeding are horrible, there is constantly the possibility that you could win quite big with little gambling investment.

Keno is enjoyed with eighty numbers and 20 numbers are drawn each round. Gamblers of Keno can choose from two to 10 numbers and gamble on them, as much or as little as they want to. The payout of Keno is dependent on the bets made and the roll out of matching numbers.

Keno has grown in universal appeal in the United States since the close of the 19th century when the Chinese characters were changed with more familiar, American numbers. Lotteries weren’t covered under the legalization of wagering in Nevada State in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos renamed the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ utilizing the notion that the numbers are horses and you are wanting your horses to come in. When the Nevada government passed a law that taxed off track betting, Nevada casinos quickly changed the name to ‘Keno’.
