Keno’s History
Keno was introduced in two hundred BC by the Chinese military commander, Cheung Leung who used this game as a finance resource for his declining army. The city of Cheung was waging a battle, and after a bit of time appeared to be looking at a national shortage of food with the excessive decrease in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to develop a quick response for the economic calamity and to produce money for his military. He, as it follows developed the game we now know as keno and it was a fantastic success.
Keno once was known as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were broadcast by pigeons from bigger cities to the smaller villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was imported to America in the 19th century by Chinese immigrants who migrated to the United States for jobs. In those times, Keno was played with 120 numbers.
